Body is a Temple
In 1 Corinthians 3:16–23, Paul reminds the church in Corinth—and us—that our bodies are not just physical structures but holy spaces where God’s Spirit dwells. We are living temples. How we treat our bodies and how we care for each other reflects our recognition of this sacred truth.
“Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?” – 1 Corinthians 3:16
John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, understood this deeply. He taught that caring for physical health is an act of faithfulness—not vanity. Our spiritual life is intertwined with our physical life. We honor God not only through worship and prayer but by caring for the sacred spaces we inhabit: our own bodies.
