All Things Within Your Goodwill

From Sharon R.

This week’s scripture is 2 Corinthians 5:16-21.  God loves us just as we are and God is calling each of us to become more than we are today.  Think about your life today, your goals, and your dreams.  If you could write the story of the next three years what would it be?

The old question of “What am I here for?” has been with me for as long as I can remember.  As I grow older, I’ve begun to understand that life isn’t a given at any stage, and I have become more engaged in looking for guidance.  Each of us has the privilege of and the accountability for some of what comes next, and I hope to do my best.  Most important is the acceptance that God, through the Holy Spirit, is with me (and each of us) through it all.

In the future, I have great hope of being active in living openly for whatever comes.  I know that’s also not the way I’ve always lived, but that I am forgiven.  I know God is with me, and that He uses all things for His goodwill.  I will continue to pray earnestly, study the Bible faithfully, sing praises and worship; I will try to be kind, caring, and thoughtful to everyone; I will keep my eyes open for opportunities to serve; I will take action when I can; I will actively listen, and I will pray for guidance, clarity of thought, openness to change, and the fortitude to celebrate change when it comes.

And yes, I also hope to spend time loving, laughing, and enjoying life with gusto when I can.  Everything else will come in God’s good time.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, please be with us all through this Holy season in all ways.  Give us strength, resilience, and courage to move forward within Your will.  We praise your holy names, Amen.

Sharon, we should all sign up to strive for a future you have planned. So many of us have plans and goals that are not faith-based, so thank you for encouraging us to have a future focused on God.
