Worry About Old Age? Nah.

2 Corinthians 5: 16-21

From Lorrie T.

Since I am turning 75 years old in September 2022, my goal for the next 3 years probably should be to just stay alive!  However, I have never been one to worry about old age so why start now? If I met my goals over the next 3 years. I would have my house paid in full; be traveling around this country; and be spending more time sewing; more time playing my guitar; and more time exercising. My story, ideally, would be about how I made a difference in the world; how I improved the knowledge and understanding of humankind; how I influenced goodness and mercy.  Okay, so I do dream big!  But I do believe in the impossible.  When I chose to go back to school and learn to be an automotive technician; most people thought that to be impossible.  It happened and it opened up many new opportunities that served my career very, very well! I once heard a fellow auto tech teacher tell a new batch of students to set goals.  He said that rich people are people who not only set goals but write them down! Guilty as charged!  I walk around with goals floating around through my brain but actually writing them down has not happened until now! So, through my participation in church and because of the righteousness of God, I have improved!  And the goal of improving is perhaps my hardest, yet dearest and greatest goal to set and maintain!

Lord,  Thank you for your glorious power and love!  We bow our heads to your vast care.  Thank you for guiding us through the impossible and helping us find our best selves. Help us to always keep your love in our hearts and to forever pass it on to whomever, wherever it can be useful. Thank you for our lives, our earth, your gifts of hope and joy! Please help us pass it on and help us meet your goal of a heaven on earth.
