This Week's Scripture Philippians 4:17-21

All sorts of things accumulate around us as we go through life. Some of it are actually blessings, some not so much.

Describe a time when you got overly interested in collecting something. Or, describe a time you felt concerned over not having enough of something important (i.e. money, food, shelter, time).

From Lorrie T.

I have been blessed with more than 74 years of living.  I have endured betrayal, robbery, losses of loved ones, tornadoes, floods, car accidents, illnesses, misunderstandings, differences of opinions, cruelty, misfortunes, heartbreaks, and poverty. Yet here I am with a basement over-filled with too much stuff; overeducated with too much know-it-all; and spoiled with constant comfort. I really lack for nothing.  Each setback in my life was only temporary.  God never left my side. And all those stories of hard times would probably make a great book!  God is so wonderfully good throughout all time; I wonder why I still get anxious when things do not go as I planned.  By now I have enough evidence to believe in God’s grace and love. Yet my humanness invariably rises up with worry, nervousness, and edginess when anything new comes along.  Wow, how amazingly forgiving God is! Each time fear sneaks into my heart, God is still there!  Maybe my next days (or years) of my life can be full of remembering how all is well and that God is always near.

Thank you, dear Lord for your constant love and care.  Help me remember that all humans face challenging times. I ask you, God, to use me as a solution for others when they face challenges. Let me remember how much I owe you!  I want to be your servant, Lord.

Lorrie, I love your “humanness”-it makes me feel better since I’m a worrier too! 💕

I guess we are stuck being humans for now! It's comforting to know we all face the same challenges and that Jesus knows what it's like! Thanks for sharing. 💞

How I appreciate your servant’s heart, your honesty, and your ability to express your feelings. You are a blessing. And you really should write that book!

Lorrie, you are such a great example of what perseverance and resilience and a strong faith can do! Setbacks are no match for you and the Lord by your side! Thank you!

Lori, you always have wonderful thoughts and insightful words. Just yesterday, I was so worried about a situation , all for naught as God took it all in His capable hands. Thank you for the reminder that He is always in control. I hope you do write that book, I will buy it!
