Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Truly I tell you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.’ When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astounded and said, ‘Then who can be saved?’ But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.’

Matthew 19:23-26

By Rebecca Knowlton

This is one of my favorite scriptures. I remember being stuck on the part of a camel going through the eye of a needle, and not the metaphor of the scripture. As I have grown up I still get stuck on it. It’s an impossibility, but wait, there is more! (to the passage) Here is my favorite part “Humanly Speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible’

With God all things are possible, not just some, but all things. Humanly speaking there is no way for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. Humanly speaking we drop the word impossible fairly often. Humanly speaking it’s easy to lose hope when facing an ‘impossibility.’ But as humans we need to remember that we need to be with God, then all things are possible. A joyous obstacle that gives us time to change our daily mindset and refocus on the one who can help us through, over or around the impossibility.
