‘Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:19-21

Many people spend a majority of their lives working to save up money to purchase the biggest, best, and newest items. They often find themselves with all the greatest items and no one to share them with. God wants us to live in his image. His wants are for us to show his ways to those that may need more direction, so they too will be in heaven when they are called to return home.

How is it that we can easily remember lyrics to the next big hit or the latest Tiktok trends to show off to others but we struggle to memorize scriptures? Today in this world we are so quick to share our new cars or new phones but when was the last time you shared a Bible verse with someone or prayed for that person? In the scripture it says, “for where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” We want our loved ones and our passion for serving the Lord to be the treasures that are waiting for us in heaven, where there is no destruction and no evil but only beauty, love and goodness. Where are your priorities? Do they line up with these verses? Or are they more focused on the worldly treasures?
